Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, according to most commentators, is the narrator of Iran's various and chronic wars with foreign enemies. But if we define the two consequences of writing Shahnameh as "unification" and "awareness" according to Ferdowsi's words, in a new interpretation, Ferdowsi can be seen as a critical narrator who deals with the issue of "internal conflict leading to the collapse of Iran" behind the narratives of the Shahnameh. The purpose of this article is to examine the "internal conflict" in Iran and criticize it in the Shahnameh. Thus, the main issue is how "internal conflict" as an issue of Iran in Ferdowsi's thought is presented in the Shahnameh? Based on the findings of the research and using the theme analysis method and Quentin Skinner's theory of intentional hermeneutics, the Shahnameh, while it is a wide range of ideas, in its entirety provides a critical plan of the Iranian action model focused on conflict. Behind the curtain of the epic battles of the warriors, it raises the issue of identity disintegration as a result of continuous conflicts and violent rivalries of Iranian tribes and families. Therefore, in the framework of Ferdowsi's critical view of the phenomenon of internal conflict in the history of Iran, the result of this study is to reveal the error of historical understanding and give a new interpretation of Ferdowsi's thought to understand the problem in the current situation
