Intertextuality is one of the recent literary theories in literary criticism; This literary theory emphasizes the fact that no text is independent and self-sufficient and every text is formed in relation with a other texts. Every text in the process of formation and creation takes things from the infinity of texts and every text is a mosaic of direct and indirect quotations. Therefore, traces of other texts can be seen in every text. Believers of this theory, seek to discover signs and the presence of different texts in one text. Intertextuality, especially with the Gérard Genette approach, seeks to trace the concrete presence of one text in another text and emphasizes "co-presence". The current research has investigated intertextuality in Simin Behbahani's poetry with a Genette approach, and with a descriptive-analytical method, open-intention, hidden-intention and implicit "intertextuality" effects in linguistic , lexical, imagery and thematic dimensions. It has re-examined Simin Behbahani's poetry and revealed Simin's intertextual relationships with traditional poets of Persian literature and contemporaries. The result of the present research shows the extensive intertextual relationship between Simin and the classic persian poets and contemporary Iranian poets. He has mostly been in intertextual relationship with poets such as Hafez, Saadi, Jalāl al-Dīn Muhammad Rumi, and contemporaries with Sohrab Sepehri, Mehdi Akhavan-Sales, Ahmad Shamlou, Nader Naderpour, and Fereydoon Moshiri.
