In Persian literature, lyrical and romantic narrative poems (*bazm-nāmeh*) serve as more than mere tales of romance; they provide a profound context for representing worldviews, human understanding of the cosmos, and the relationship between humanity and the Source of Being. Among these works, Nezami Ganjavi’s *Khosrow and Shirin* possesses deep ontological layers due to the intertwining of love, destiny, and wisdom. The significance of this study lies in the fact that a systematic re-examination of Nezami’s worldview within his romantic narratives illuminates the intellectual patterns governing 12th-century narrative poetry and clarifies the interplay between reason, love, and fatalism within the intellectual tradition of classical literature. Accordingly, the fundamental question addressed here is: How has Nezami woven the core pillars of existence—such as creation, the teleological nature of the universe, destiny, the tension between determinism and free will, and the awareness of death—into the fabric of the *Khosrow and Shirin* narrative? This article employs a descriptive-analytical method based on the analysis of textual data from library sources, examining the work’s key themes and motifs from philosophical and theological perspectives. The findings indicate that Nezami’s ontology in *Khosrow and Shirin* rests upon a foundation of monotheism and wisdom; he portrays the universe as a coherent, purposeful realm governed by Divine Destiny, wherein love is not merely a carnal or earthly attraction but a driving force for human existential evolution and a medium for connecting to Ultimate Truth.
