In recent decades, contemporary Persian poetry has served as a dynamic arena for representing social transformations and shaping critical consciousness. Within this context, the presence and agency of women have played a fundamental role in transforming poetic language and themes. Consequently, this study aims to elucidate and analyze the reflection of women's struggle, protest, and the construction of their political identity in contemporary Iranian poetry, focusing specifically on the works of Simin Behbahani. The necessity of this research stems from the fact that a precise understanding of the metamorphosis of the female role—shifting from a "passive, traditional beloved" to an "active, protesting subject"—requires an examination of the interplay between literary discourse, female agency, and contexts of social resistance in the poetry of one of the pioneers of contemporary committed poetry. The fundamental research question asks: Through what linguistic, symbolic, and thematic mechanisms has Simin Behbahani managed to redefine female political identity and the discourse of protest in opposition to structures of domination? This study employs a descriptive-analytical method based on library research and a critical textual content analysis of the poems. The findings indicate that by deconstructing the traditional *ghazal* form and employing innovative meters alongside socio-political themes, Simin Behbahani has transformed the *ghazal* into an effective instrument for civil resistance. By synthesizing lived female experiences, maternal compassion, and a sense of collective responsibility, she reconstructs female political identity not as a state of passivity or victimhood, but as a resilient, consciousness-raising subject committed to the pursuit of justice.
