Emphasis means to establish a concept in the mind of the audience and to strengthen and consolidate it in order to remove any ambiguity regarding the purpose. This literary technique is carried out using special linguistic capacities. Considering Hafez's aesthetic approach and the special purpose of this poet in composing poetry, the methods of emphasis are widely used in his poems, and examining the types of these methods can reveal many aspects and nuances of this poet's poetry. The aim of this research is to examine the unknown methods of emphasis in Hafez Shirazi's sonnets. In this article, which was conducted using an analytical-descriptive method, evidence of emphasis in Hafez's sonnets was examined and unknown methods of emphasis were analyzed. The results of the research indicate that Hafez used unknown methods such as combining words, adding the interrogative adjective "what" before the noun, multiple descriptions, a special syntactic structure, and repetition of syntactic structure to emphasize and highlight his intended concept and subject.
