In the Persian lyric tradition, natural elements do not only have a descriptive and aesthetic function, but in many cases they become a tool for expressing the poet's inner experiences and emotional states. Vahshi Bafghi's lyric poetry is also one of the prominent examples in which nature is closely linked to feelings such as love, separation, sadness, longing, and restlessness. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze the emotional function of natural elements in Vahshi Bafghi's lyric poetry and explain their role in objectifying the poet's emotional experiences. The necessity of this study stems from the fact that despite the attention of researchers to the romantic and poignant aspects of Vahshi's poetry, the role of natural elements in organizing emotion and effectively conveying inner states in his lyric poetry has been less studied independently and in a focused manner. Accordingly, the main question of the research is how the elements of nature in Vahshi Bafghi's sonnets serve to represent and convey emotions and what function they have in intensifying the emotional charge of the poem. The research method in this article is descriptive-analytical and based on library study; in this way, examples related to natural elements in Vahshi Bafghi's sonnets are extracted and then examined from the perspective of their connection with emotions and methods of imagery.
